The State Mineralogical Societies of Australia (also known as MinSocs) foster the appreciation and study of minerals and mineralogy. Their members include geologists, mineralogists, mineral collectors, and anyone with an interest in minerals. They hold regular meetings and their activities include mineral talks, field trips, mineral markets, auctions, microscope sessions and more.

The MinSocs also organise the Joint Mineralogical Seminar, an event scheduled on a rotational basis for a different State each year. In 2019 the seminar will be held in Perth on the last weekend in August.
